Message from our Head Teacher, Mrs Pearce

Welcome to the Parsloes Primary School website.

The purpose of this website is to help keep parents, pupils and visitors well informed about the school’s policies, activities and events as well as providing essential information regarding teaching and learning.

At Parsloes we know that all parents have great hopes and aspirations for their children and our aim is to ensure that each pupil receives the best possible education in a happy, secure and intellectually stimulating environment

We are extremely proud of the polite, thoughtful and enthusiastic children that come to Parsloes Primary School and we always aim to provide very clear expectations of good behaviour and respect for all which help to underpin effective learning. We believe that the environment and education that Parsloes Primary School provides for its pupils will help to ensure that they achieve their best at school and beyond.

We warmly welcome visitors to our wonderful school and hope you find your visit to our website useful and informative.

School Organisation

Parsloes Primary School is a school for children between the ages of four and eleven years.

We also have a Nursery that has 60 part-time places for children who have had their third birthday preceding the September of admittance.

The children are divided into classes according to their age, with due regard being given to the balance between boys and girls.

From September 2012, Parsloes became a three form entry school ie three classes per year group, starting with Reception.

The School is not affiliated to any particular religious denomination. All children receive religious education and take part in a daily Act of Worship, unless their parents wish to withdraw them in accordance with their rights under the 1944 and 1988 Education Acts.

At Parsloes we are understanding, respectful and with a positive attitude towards life we aspire to achieve here and beyond.

Core Values / Ways of Being

In order for the above to be achieved it is essential that every member of the school community acknowledges and reflects the values promoted by the school.

Agreed Core Values

Being Respectful: acting with integrity and consideration

Being Aspirational: having high expectations of what we can achieve

Being understanding : demonstrating empathy

Being positive: Learning to persevere and developing resilience

British Values

We are committed to teaching a rich and rounded curriculum which includes opportunities outside the classroom e.g. Dagenham Songwriters Choir to support spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Our PSHE curriculum provides a framework for these and behavioural skills, so that children will be:-motivated and equipped to make and sustain friendships; deal with and resolve conflict fairly; and manage feelings of frustration, anger and anxiety.

The school’s system for assessing and tracking pupils’ progress is reliable and rigorous. Records show that pupils make rapid progress and are on track to attain higher standards than in the previous year.
