Information for Parents

Parsloes Primary School office is open to parents from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm. There is an answer phone available to leave messages outside these times. All visitors must use the main school entrances.

 

The office is staffed by:

 

Mrs Fairweather is the Office Manager, managing the schools data systems, attendance, pupil enrolments, HR and overseeing the smooth running of the school office.

 

Mrs Parkin is the Business Manager, managing the school’s budgets, all financial management systems, premises, contractors, Health & Safety & ICT. Mrs Tidmarsh works alongside Mrs Parkin as Finance Assistant.

 

Stephanie Pigeon is the school receptionist and deals with queries from parents and other members of the public.

 

All of us are available during school times to help with any questions or information you may need regarding your child.  You can request a paper copy of any information found on the school website, free of charge.

Teachers provide pupils with helpful feedback. They help them to understand why they have made errors and how to improve their work.

Our Uniform

Our children look very smart in their official school uniform. School jumpers and cardigans can be bought at a very reasonable price from the school office.

Lunchtime Arrangements

PACKED LUNCH

 

If you are providing your child with a packed lunch please ensure it does not include the following:
fizzy drinks, chocolate bars or chocolate, sweets.

 

SCHOOL DINNERS

 

From September 2014, all pupils in Reception, Year 1 & 2 are entitled to a free school meal, in line with the DfE initiative.

 

Pupils in Years 3 to 6, unless entitled to Free School Meals, will need to pay for dinners.

Attendance

ABSENCE

 

The Local Authority Attendance team monitor all absences and lateness of pupils in this school. A member of the attendance team sends group call messages to all parents of children who are not in school and have not given a reason for this absence.

School Vision

APPLYING FOR A PLACE

Children can be admitted into our nursery the September following their third birthday. The school office manages admissions into the nursery while admissions into reception and the school are managed by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. For details click here.

 

There is always the possibility that there are more applications for places than are available. When this occurs the following criteria will be used to decide how places will be allocated:-

 

NURSERY CLASSES ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

 

Places in nursery classes are allocated to children those parents or carers are resident in the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham in the following order or priority:

 

1. Children who are in the care of the local authority.
2. Children who have a brother or sister attending the school or linked junior school where applicable at the date of admission.
3. The oldest of the children in the relevant age group (those who are three by 31 August immediately preceding the school year in which they might be admitted) resident in the school’s designated neighbourhood area at the date of admission.
4. Children who live closest to a particular school at the date of admission measured by the nearest available walking route using recognises footpaths, by-ways and public highways adopted, numbered and maintained by the Borough’s Highway Department.
